What We Believe

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” John 14:6-7 NIV

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Victor Valley Church of Christ based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

“Therefore let [everyone] be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and [Christ].” Acts 2:36 [NIV]

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)

God
God is the loving Creator of all things, holy, just, and full of mercy. He desires a relationship with us and has revealed His nature most fully through His Son, Jesus Christ. (John 3:16)
Revelation
God has made Himself known to us through His Word, the Bible. Through Scripture, we come to understand His will, His character, and His plan for our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16–17)
Mankind
Mankind was created in the image of God, with purpose and the ability to know and serve Him. Each person is deeply valued by God and invited into a relationship with Him. (Genesis 1:27)
The Fall
Sin entered the world when humanity chose to turn away from God. This separation affected all people, but God, in His love, made a way to restore what was broken. (Romans 3:23)
Salvation
Salvation is God’s gift, made possible through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through faith, repentance, and obedience to His will, we are forgiven and made new. (Acts 2:38)
The Church
The church is the body of Christ, made up of believers who follow Him. Together, we worship, grow in faith, encourage one another, and share God’s love with the world. (Ephesians 4:4–6)
Resurrection
Jesus Christ rose from the dead, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. Those who belong to Him share in this hope, with the promise of eternal life and a future resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:20–22)
